Dolce and Gabbana Pushes The Envelope...Again
Dolce and Gabbana's newest ads are creating a bit of controversy. They feature women sporting whips and D&G's signature metal corset belt alongside nude male models. I'm sure you can see why some human rights advocates are up in arms. Personally, I have no problems with the ads. They're quite gorgeous.

Fall/Winter 07: Animal Prints

Givenchy Couture Fall 2007
The hottest looks for fall are beginning to emerge, and once again animal prints will reign supreme. As we all know it's not easy to pull off bold prints without looking cheap or gaudy. The secret lies in picking the right pieces.
Pair printed pumps and flats with skinny jeans. Wear a leopard belt with your favorite little black dress and turn heads with your fashion savvy.
However when dealing with prints please remember: NEVER, EVER WEAR A MATCHING OUTFIT AND ACCESSORIES. Quite simply, it's tacky.
Wearing leopard print from head to toe may get you some strange looks. but integrating touches of animal print will make you envy of every true fashionista's eye.

Designer Spotlight: Rachel Roy
Until recently, I never really paid attention to mega-designer Rachel Roy. I knew she was the gorgeous multi-ethnic woman married to some hip-hop guy, but beyond that, I never cared to delve further into her career. That is until I happened upon these gorgeous designs at the brand new ShopBop designer boutique. Like Derek Lam and Phillip Lim, she designs for young women who aren't afraid to take risks with their wardrobe. I'm in awe of her carefully edited Spring '08 collection. Here's a taste: for more visit RachelRoy.com

Kate Hudson Covers Harper's Bazaar
Recently I have had some serious problems with the people that Bazaar chooses to place on their cover. I'm not really inspired by Kate Hudson, she is tolerable and she looks cute on the cover. However, I must say that I will never buy an issue of Harper's Bazaar again. It's just too commercial.
Sponsored Post: Payperpost
I recently signed up with PayPerPost in order to generate a few extra dollars from my beloved Cult of Couture. PayPerPost allows advertisers to sponsor posts on selected blogs for a specified amount. So far all of my experiences with the company have been more than satisfactory. Cult of Couture was approved shortly after I applied, and I immediately began accepting paid posting opportunities (like this one). Posties (that's what we're called) can earn anywhere from $5 to $200 for each post. Granted the $200 posting opportunities are rare and difficult to attain, the fact is that they do exist. I know a couple of bloggers who participate in this program, and they've had positive experiences as well. Unlike a few of the other paid blogging companies, PayPerPost seeks to keep bloggers honest by requiring that they fully disclose all paid blogging posts. I completely respect their integrity, and I believe my readers will as well. I'm also fully confident that when the time comes PayPerPost will actually pay me. Because trust me I have had some less than satisfactory experiences with scheming advertisers that have tried to rip me off once it was time to cut a check. If you're a blogger looking to monetize your site, I highly reccommend PayPerPost as a source of supplementary income. I'm excited to do business with them.

SJP Covers Elle UK
As the ridiculous overexposed Lindsay Lohan is on the cover of American Elle, the ridiculously overexposed Sarah Jessica Parker graces the cover of British Elle. She looks gorgeous, but I'm tired of her. I, personally, cannot wait to see Vogue UK with the amazingly beautiful Sasha Pivovarova.
If you haven't noticed, I am obsessed with Vogue in all its incarnations. From the abject commericalism of American Vogue to the avant-garde brilliance of French Vogue. These photographs of Claudia Schiffer from Vogue Paris are an example of why I'm so drawn to the European editions. They looks so unstaged, so candid. They're something I would only expect to see in French Vogue.
