Herve Must Die
Don't get me wrong. I totally respect Herve Leger's contributions to the fashion world, and about 15 years ago, those banded dresses were to die for. However, they really didn't need to be resurrected. Once was enough. Now I'm seeing them everywhere, and it's infuriating me. As women we should take starlets wearing these skintight horrors as a personal affront. They are simply parading their perfect cellulite-less frames in front of us because they know that we have no hope of ever being able to pull off that look. Well I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore! Herve Must Die!
Just look at them standing there; so smug and secure with their bodies. Disgusting!

What Not To Wear
So clothing superstore Shopbop has egregiously plastered this image on their splash page and dubbed it as "work wear". Quick question: Who in the hell thinks this is suitable for work? Not even a woman in her 20s should wear this to any kind of office!

Designer Must Have: Bottega Veneta
I am infatuated with the retro glamour of these Bottega Veneta sunglasses. The color and the style, called Poudre Butterfly, delight my inner bobby-soxer. They're so chic, I could easily imagine them on Marilyn Monroe or Jackie Kennedy.

$325 from Bottega Veneta

Couture Lust of the Day: Miki Fukai Dress
Every once I while I stumble upon a designer that is...well..pure gold. Okay, so that was cheesy, but I'm so glad that aimless internet wandering brought me to Japanese designer Miki Fukai. Her designs are organic and innovative. She manages to push the envelope without feeling disingenuous. I absolutely adore this dress from her fall/winter 06 collection though it appears to be a standing/dancing only dresses. For if you were to sit down I'm afraid the wonderful structure would be ruined. I believe that this is the definition of wearable art.
P.S. Doesn't the model kind of remind of Twiggy. Not the obnoxious America's Next Top Model Twiggy, but the uber chic 60s Twiggy? Now that't what I call fierce.

Designer Spotlight: Jovovich-Hawk
I am not a huge fan of celebrity designers, but I was truly inspired by the Jovovich-Hawk F/W 2007 Collection. I would describe the styling as retro glam meets contemporary rebel. Plus I love their motto: "feel good, look great, feel bad, look great." So true.

Ferre's Final Show
Just a week after his unforunate passing, Gianfranco Ferre's final collection was shown in Milan last week. As the show concluded, a parade of children walked the runway wearing Ferre's signature white buttondown which is touching yet kinda creepy.
Ferre was a design legend who dressed stars like Elizabeth Taylor, Sharon Stone and Princess Diana.

Cavalli Teams with H&M for New Line
Roberto Cavallli is set to bring his signature "rocker chic" styles to the racks of your local H&M. According to Fashion Wire Daily, Cavalli's work will consist of 25 women's wear pieces and 20 designs for men. The collection is set to debut on November 8 in 200 H&M stores worldwide.
I don't know about you, but I'm a little bit over the celebrity/designer collaborations and all of the hoopla that stems from them. I'm not so sure about this one in particular because sometimes I find Cavalli's designs to be a bit gaudy--even for the entertainment industry. So what say you? Will his designs be fabulous or will the collaboration fall flat?

Hana Soukupova Lights Up German Vogue

Every once in awhile, I tire of the rampant commercialism that inhabits American Vogue. All I can say is thank God for Europe.

Gisele Bundchen knocks it out of the Park in W
Wowowweewah! These photos from the latest issue of W magazine are absolutely spectacular. I never thought I'd buy Gisele Bundchen as a model outside of the pages of the Victoria Secret Catalog, but she definitely proved me wrong.

I'm an Addict
I am a certified America's Next Top Model fiend.I love Tyra's drag queenisms, as any true ANTM junkie knows, the best episode in the entire season is the makeover episode. Now that cycle 8 is over, I'm missing my ANTM fix. Fortunately, I found this clip from the makeover episode of Canada's Next Top Model. Rebecca's cut is my absolute favorite; of course she cried about it. Oh it never gets old!

Couture Lust of the Day
I've been infatuated with the classicly feminine yet cutting edge designs of Catherine Malandrino for years, and recently, this canary yellow mini dress caught my eye. The color is perfectly striking and the cut is divine. I imagine it might be a bit difficult to pull off the huge bow, but that makes me love it even more.

Are you F**cking Kidding Me?
Kate Moss and Pete Doherty will star in two campaigns for Roberto Cavalli. Kate Moss will be the face of the women's line and Pete Doherty will pose for the men's campaign. Famed photographers Mert & Marcus have already shot the couple separately in Ibiza.
I already have a great disdain for Kate Moss. I find her neither inspiring or cutting edge, but to add her drug addled boyfriend into the mix is just adding insult to injury. So this is why people hate fashion.

Eyesore of the Day
The fashion police have deemed this Prada fringe bag a crime of fashion, and I would have to agree. I just cannot imagine what the normally brilliant designers at the famed design house were thinking when they came up with this monstrosity.

Harper's Redeems Itself with Gorgeous Cover
After the monstrosity that was last month's cover of Harper's Bazaar; I was ecstatic to see the new subscriber's cover of the fashion magazine. Anne Hathaway is the epitome of grace.

When bad decisions happen to good people...
WTF is up with Marc Jacobs' tattoo? It is, I believe, an M&M. I'm guessing the "M" stands for Marc, but still. It's a rather unfortunate tattoo.

Dammit! Don't Tell Anyone I said This...
But Lindsay Lohan actually looks pretty good in these Jill Stuart ads. I know that I hate celebrities peddling desinger wear and I especially hate the aforementioned cultural parasite, but something about these ads work. What is the world coming to?
