One of our favorites, Victoria Beckham, was spotted wearing this lingerie-inspired ensemble on the October cover of Elle Magazine. The look was taken straight from the from the Couture runway.

The look was also spotted on Frida Gustavsson for L’Officiel Netherlands October.

When Will Designers Stop Trying To Make Fur Happen?

Each Fall we see a ton of designers use fur on the runways, but for some reason the look doesn't translate quite so well off the runway. We're not sure if we know anyone who owns a fur, but that doesn't stop designers like Gucci, Chanel and Marchesa from jamming fur after fur onto their runways. We're just wondering why couturiers seem to be so hung up on animal hide.

Designer of the Moment: Marchesa

We used to call Monique Llhullier our favorite designer. She spoke to us with her girly shapes and adornment. And her figure flattering silhouettes looked equally fantastic on all frames (see: America Ferrera). But now a new design queen has stolen our heart. Marchesa is the new Monique. With designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig behind the wheel, Marchesa too has classic shapes that we never tire of (though they show up every season). Her gowns are also beloved by celebrities, and fit for all age ranges. There's really no difference between the two. Only that Marchesa is extremely hot right now. However, fashion goes in waves, and soon it will be Moniques turn again.

According to Vogue UK Matthew Williamson will be showing at London Fashion Week in September to celebrate British Fashion Council’s 25th year.

“I am thrilled to be returning to London Fashion Week this September. Since holding my first show here in 1997, it has always been very special to me. This season’s schedule is shaping up to be a truly great show of the spectrum of British talent around today, from established brands to young labels,” Williamson told Vogue.

Fashion TV: Unravelled

If only we were born a bit more artistically inclined we would be able to fulfill our destiny as a world famous fashion designer. Too bad we can't draw so much as a stick figure.

Yet we're still intrigued by the fashion world particularly the design process. Unravelled is a online documentary which follows British designer Louise Goldin as she goes from the first sketches to runway show. The best part of the show is that the episodes appear in reverse order. That is the "first" episode shows the runway show. It's an incredible concept, and watching the show made us more infatuated with fashion (who knew that was possible?). It's a must see for anyone even remotely interested in fashion and design.

Louis Vuitton Starts a New Trend

This fall, a new handbag trend is coming to the forefront, and it's not for women. Next season, not only will Kanye West be debuting his new Louis Vuitton branded sneaker, but the design house will also be distributing a collection of man bags AKA "murses."

What a beautiful LV spectacle

The new Louis Vuitton Damier Graphite collection for men, window display has had lots of attention. The burglary heist-theme features the Damier bag under a glass case like a display in a museum, in the mirror image of the scene the bag appears to have been stolen. The glass is broken and fake security lasers are active. I thought this was a cool concept, apparently the scene was so realistic some police officers went into the store to investigate. lol

Isacc Mizrahi has come out with one of my more favorite collections over the past few seasons. This collection is sugary sweet with cinched in waists and soft silhouettes in demure colors. It's perfect for the ephemeral girlie e.g. Blair Waldorf.

The ubiquitous presence of fur is undoubtedly one of Fall/Winter 2008's most interesting and unexpected revelations. In an increasingly PC world it's almost refreshing to see that designers just don't care about pleasing the masses. It's an art, and I respect that.

Karl Lagerfeld (The Kaiser himself) took this gorgeous photos for Fendi's Fall/Winter campaign which showcases a coat of fur and feathers. Whatever you might say about Karl, you can't say that he's not ferosh.

Alber Elbaz, the genius behind the resurgence of Lanvin, has now teamed with Acne denim to create a collection for the funky, Swedish line. According to Fashion Wear Daily, the line will be sold at Barneys and Bergdorf stores beginning this November. So I've never really taken note of Vena Cava (I'll give you a moment to get over my fashion blaspheming). I really don't know why, they just never really intrigued me. But I just read an interview with head designers Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai that's made me change my mind. Their whit and insight was so refreshing that I was actually inspired to view their work. Not too long ago, I announced Chanel Iman to be the next black super model, but it seems as though fashion insiders have another ebony beauty in line to take the throne. 17 year-old Jourdan Dunn could be the next Naomi Campbell.

Dunn is set to grace the pages of both American and British Vogue within the next few months. She'll also be featured in the much talked about all black issue of Vogue Italia alongside Iman, Chanel Iman, and Naomi Campbell.

In regards to Jourdan, Sarah Doukas (the woman who discovered Kate Moss) said this,“I’m very excited for her. I feel, if she does have great success, she will have a big effect on the way people look at different kinds of beauty.”

Louis Vuitton is very serious about protecting the exposure of their logo and it's likeness. A little bit too serious. The famed fashion house is now suing artist Nadia Plesner for using the likeness of the LV monogram multicolore bag in a painting.

According to her rep the images were created "to satirize the lack of media attention a genocide like Darfur gathers compared with the relative overexposure of skinny women with little dogs and designer bags."

This is, in my opinion, a worthy aim. Though I am a fashionista at heart, I realize that there are more important things going on in the world. They say that brilliance is akin to insanity, and I still can't decide whether or not Marc Jacobs is crazy. His Fall 2008 collection featured these "interesting" head pieces. Which made little to no sense even in the scope of his revolution era inspired line.

When I first spotted them, I thought there was no way that anyone could wear them in real life, but of course Mary-Kate Olsen proved me wrong. Yes, she looks certifiably insane, but she almost managed to pull it off, and that's commendable.

Note: I'm not sure if anyone other than me watched Austrailia's Next Top Model, but that's Alice Burdeu last season's winner.

For those familiar with the most recent season of Project Runway, you'll remember that finalist Rami Kashou was continually maligned by the judges for his grecian-inspired silhouettes. Well, it looks like Rami was on to something.

This season the top designers opted to infuse their gowns with intricate draping reminiscent of that you would find on statuary at the Met. This seasons premiere silhouette also proves to be much more universally flattering than the ever-present tulip skirt. The fashionophiles will of course note that celebrity designer Monique Lhullier has been doing this for years, but then again Lhullier's work has never been given the visionary credit that it deserves.

Season after season I love Michaels Kors variation on the same theme: fabulous little rich girl. All fans of project runway, know that on the show the term "expensive" gets thrown around quite a bit. Mi Amor: Chanel Pre-Fall Collection

Someone's got a bit of a crush on Amy Winehouse. With the unmistakably amy combo of over exaggerated eye makeup and beehive hairdos me thinks Ms. Winehoues has inadvertently become fashion's hottest muse. We do love a tragic story, don't we.

Kate Moss isn't even supposed to be modeling in these photos taken by New York paparazzi. The paps caught Kate striking some exceptionally "modelesque" poses as she was lounging around the set of her NY shoot for Donna Karan's "Nueva York" themed spring collection. Honestly, I also entertained the notion that Kate was actually working while the paparazzi were snapping away, but I just like the idea that this is how she sits around in her free time; completely made up, impeccably dressed, and beautifully postured.

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but I am an absolute fashion fiend. Nothing delights me more than a perfectly put together ensemble, and although I love couture, it doesn't quite fit into my budget.

That's why I adore shows like TLC's "What Not To Wear" where style gurus Stacy London and Clinton Kelly transform a hapless fashion victim into a chic style maven.

Fans of Stacy London will be happy to hear that former magazine editor now has her own style-infused talk show called Fashionably Late With Stacy London. It's been described as "a delicious cocktail of celebrity style, real-life tests of runway trends and tips viewers can use in their everyday lives." I don't know about you, but I can't wait to hear Stacy dish with celebs about my two favorite things: gossip and fashion.

LA Fashion Week Fave: Petro Zilia
Though LA Fashion is probably the least renowned of the lot, there are quite a few great designer how choose to show their designs in the weeklong event sponsored by Mercedes Benz. One of my faves was Petro Zilia, a brand loved by celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. Designer Nony Tochterman has infused her quirky aesthetic into an utterly wearable and fun collection. Many of the lines pieces harken back to the 70s where miniskirted, tiered, one-shouldered sassiness ruled the day. Tochterman's impeccable eye for color also distinguishes her work from lesser designers. Each of her frocks are the perfect electric shade; perfect for the trolling the streets of sunny California.

The Miller Sisters Cover Nylon
I'll admit that when I first heard the Sienna Miller was planning to join the ranks of the countless celebrities with clothing lines, I couldn't have rolled my eyes quicker. But after I found out that Twenty8Twelve was to be designed principally by Savannah Miller, who graduated from design school, and I saw the line my opinion of the fledgling collection soon changed. I'm particularly drawn to the decidedly masculine shapes and silhouettes.

So I was slightly enthused to see the sisters Miller on the cover of this month's Nylon looking as edgy and nonchalant as ever. This is why I love Nylon's covers so much. This could be a shot by the sartorialist; it's so relaxed.

Fashion Week Faves: L.A.M.B.
Gwen Stefani is her own best spokesmodel. This dress could be my favorite piece in the collection. Houndstooth is oh so chic. The theme of the 2007 L.A.M.B. collection was naughty school girl meets English sophisticate. In a swirl of plaid and knee socks, the celebrilabel has taken a turn for the legitimate.

This seasons pieces are decidedly more wearable, than those previous. That's what makes this collection so successful. Finally, the powers that be have learned how to toe the line between creativity and accessibility which is essential for a burgeoning label.

First Look: Elizabeth and James

Known for their eclectic fashion sensibility, the Olsen twins have not one but two clothing lines: the ultraluxe The Row, and the slightly more accesible Elisabeth and James (named for their non-celebrity siblings). The latter has just hit the interweb via Neiman Marcus, and I must admit that most of the collection is pretty solid. Though some of the pieces look like they were plucked directly from the undoubtedly expansive closets of the sisters (which may or may not be a compliment), a few of the pieces are fresh and inspired.

This jacket, however, is utterly heinous.
However, some of the lines more unorthodox pieces work. The hoodie dress perfectly toes the line between hipster cool and seductress sleazy, and though they are completely inpractical, I am a fan of the cut and design of the cocktail shorts.
